Spark Assessment Salient Features
Solo Framework
The test questions follow a gradual level of difficulty among the learning competencies examined. This feature allows students specific learning needs and abilities to be measured despite the standardized approach.
Norming Results
The report includes a regional and national norming results. This will allow the school to determine if the students are behind or above learning performance within their region and the national situation.
Intervention Schemes
The report does not focus on the results of the student’s test alone. The test results are accompanied with specific suggested learning interventions and strategies.
Teacher Support
After the administration of the diagnostic test, teachers undergo onsite training to familiarize themselves with the different intervention schemes provided in the report. Teachers are expected to gain working knowledge how to confront the learning issues and challenges of the students.
Action Research Article
At the end of the academic year, the school receives a decent action research article highlighting the results of the assessment and performance of the students in the current school year.
Learning Intervention Plan
After the implementation of the diagnostic test, a summary of learning intervention plan is provided to the school. It highlights the areas of student’s weakness and the suggested possible interventions to be carried-out. In this way, the school administrators can also monitor the implementation of the curriculum.
Curriculum Review Plan
At the end of the academic year, the school received a suggested revisions in the sequence and other review initiatives that can be implemented with the curriculum.
Individual Results Copy
At the end of the school year, the parents receive an individual report illustrating the comparative performance of their child in the diagnostic and achievement tests. The report is accompanied by a graphical presentation to further ease the burden to appreciating the results of the test.
Curriculum Alignment
The assessment test items are aligned with the current curriculum espoused by the Department of Education. SPARK employs a 3-year rule in the usage of its test item. This implies that revisions are made every three (3) years to ensure relevance, appropriateness and applicability of the items.

Aside from teachers who created the test items, the experts and scholars who reviewed the questions, structure and sequence, SPARK also employs the review of global scholars to give an international touch to the assessment.

Academic Performance Test
This academic performance test consists of two parts: a Diagnostic Test and an Achievement Test. The Diagnostic Test identifies learners' prior knowledge, skill gaps, and learning readiness before instruction. The Achievement Test measures the extent of knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired after instruction. Together, these tests provide a comprehensive assessment of student learning progress, guide instructional planning, and inform necessary interventions to enhance academic performance and ensure curriculum objectives are met effectively.
Junior High School Screening
The Junior High School Entrance Examination is a standardized assessment taken by elementary school graduates who seek admission to junior high school in public and private institutions across the Philippines. This examination serves as a crucial evaluation tool for determining a student’s preparedness for secondary education. It typically assesses core academic subjects, including Mathematics, Science, English, and Filipino, to measure fundamental knowledge, critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and language proficiency. The results of the Junior High School Entrance Examination help schools in ranking and placing students into appropriate academic tracks, sections, or scholarship programs. Placement Test
